MOSCOW, November 27. /TASS/. Russia will insist on the inclusive nature of the political process in Syria within the framework of the Vienna process, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said opening talks with visiting Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem.
"As part of international support for Syria, we will seek the beginning of the just, inclusive political process, during which the Syrians themselves will determine their fate," the minister said.
"We attach special importance to cooperation at this crucial stage of resolute struggle against terrorists and movement towards a political settlement of the Syrian crisis taking into account Syrians’ interests," Lavrov noted.
The minister said that Russia "appreciated the Syrian leadership’s commitment to resolving these issues."
"We will continue to render all necessary assistance to Syria in combating terrorism," Russia’s top diplomat said.
