Russian upper house speaker says she believes Argentina will join BRICS

BUENOS AIRES, November 12. /TASS/. Speaker of the upper house of Russian parliament, Valentina Matviyenko believes Argentina's plans to join BRICS will translate into life.

Matviyenko, who is making a tour of Latin American nations at the head of a parliamentary delegation, said on Thursday after a meeting with Argentine President Cristina de Kirchner, said the President has spoken in favor of her country's plans to join BRICS.

"She (De Kirchner TASS) said this would be BRICSA, not BRICS," she indicated.

"Argentina is highly interested in the BRICSA format turning into reality and I think this intention will take practical shape," Matviyenko said in an answer to a question from TASS.
