MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. Comprehensive support to the Russian world is a foreign policy priority for Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an article entitled "Russian world on the way to consolidation" published in the government newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

"Rendering comprehensive support to the Russian world is an unconditional foreign policy priority for Russia, which is documented in the Russian Federation’s Foreign Policy Concept," Lavrov said.

"As President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly confirmed, we will keep enthusiastically defending the rights of compatriots, using for that the entire arsenal of available means envisioned by international law," he wrote.

"On November 5, the fifth World Congress of Russian Compatriots living abroad opens in Moscow. It is called upon to become an important stage in the cause of further consolidation of the Russian world," Lavrov said.

"The upcoming forum is a good opportunity to sum up work conducted in the past years and outline plans for the future," he said.
