MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke over the phone with Saudi King Salman bin Abd al-Aziz al Saud to exchange views on the entire spectrum of issues of the Syrian settlement with due account of the results of the October 23 meeting of Russian, US, Saudi and Turkish foreign ministers in Vienna and subsequent contacts in various formats, the Kremlin press service said on Monday.
The conversation was initiated by the Saudi side.
The sides also discussed the situation around the Middle East settlement and expressed concern over the degrading situation in Israel and Palestine, the Kremlin press service said.
The Saudi King gave a high assessment of Russia’s role in promoting peace process, the press service said.
