Putin discusses situation in Syria, draft federal budget with Russia’s Security Council

MOSCOW, October 23. /TASS/. The situation in Syria and a number of provisions of Russia’s draft federal budget were in focus at Russian President Vladimir Putin’s meetings with permanent members of the Russian Federation Council, president’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.

"They discussed the situation in Syria, the Russian aerospace force’s operation to support the Syrian army’s offencive and international contact in the light of the Syrian settlement," Peskov said.

"They also discussed certain parameters of the budget, such as those concerning the presidential block structures," he said.

Participants in the meeting included Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, speaker of the Federation Council upper parliament house Valentina Matviyenko, Kremlin administration chief Sergei Ivanov, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patruchev and his deputy Rashid Nurgaliyev, Minister of Defence Sergei Shoigu, chief of the Foreign Intelligence Service Mikhail Fradkov and member of the Russian Security Council Boris Gryzlov.
