MOSCOW, October 23. /TASS/. Iran should be involved in the talks on the Syrian crisis, chairman of the international affairs committee of the State Duma lower house of Russia’s parliament Alexey Pushkov said on Friday.
"We believe that from the viewpoint of diplomatic discussion of this issue [the Syrian crisis], it should involve all the regional powers, and not only those liked by our American colleagues," Pushkov said at a meeting with a delegation of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). "We believe, in particular, that not only Saudi Arabia should take part in these talks, but also Iran, which is a country playing a major role in this region," the Russian parliamentarian said.
