MOSCOW, October 22 /TASS/. Moscow is seriously concerned with a new wave of violence in the Palestinian territories and Israel. The Middle East "quartet" is going to meet in Vienna to discuss ways of reducing tensions in the region, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.

She referred to media reports, which said that almost 50 people in Palestine and Israel had died in acts of violence since the start of October.

"In this connection, we suggested holding the "quartet’s" ministerial meeting in Vienna. We hope it’s going to be fruitful," the diplomat said.
