MOSCOW, October 19. /TASS/. A Russia-United States meeting on Syria may be held later this week, the format is being agreed, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Monday.
"Indeed, the American side has suggested a meeting [on Syria] be held within days. I can say it might take place this week," she told the Rossiya-24 television channel, adding that the venue, format and exact date were being agreed.
"As soon as we agree parameters of this meeting we will be able to announce it. Currently, it is at a stage of agreement. So far, I have no information about its possible participants," she said.
"We are ready for any dialogue in any format," she stressed.
Earlier on Monday, US Secretary of State John Kerry said he planned to meet with Russian, Saudi, Turkish and Jordanian representatives to discuss the Syrian crisis. A Russian diplomatic source confirmed to TASS that a meeting between Russian, US and Saudi foreign ministers might soon take place in Vienna.
