Russian Emergencies Ministry aircraft delivers 20 tons of aid to Syria

The aircraft delivered over 20 tons of humanitarian cargo for Syria’s population: tinned meat, fish and milk, sugar, blankets and articles of prime necessity

LATAKIA /Syria/, October 16. /TASS/. A Russian Emergencies Ministry aircraft has delivered humanitarian aid to Syria, a TASS correspondent reported Friday.

An Ilyushin IL-76 Candid aircraft landed in Latakia airport at 20:00.

"The Emergencies Ministry aircraft delivered over 20 tons of humanitarian cargo for Syria’s population: tinned meat, fish and milk, sugar, blankets and articles of prime necessity," the ministry told TASS.

Assistance to Syria is being provided in line with an instruction of the Russian government.

The plane is expected to fetch from Syria over 80 citizens of Russia, the CIS and other foreign states who wish to leave the country due to hostilities there.
