ASTANA, October 14 /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived for a two-day state visit in Astana, Kazakhstan, to meet Kazakhstani President Nursultan Nazarbayev and attend the summits of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
Earlier on Wednesday, Putin visited the Vostochny cosmodrome, which is under construction in Russia’s Amur region.
Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov told journalists that Putin’s trip had been granted the status of a state visit to demonstrate the high level of Russian-Kazakhstani ties.
