MOSCOW, October 3. /TASS/. Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thoonglun Sisulit will pay a working visit to Russia on October 4-6, during which he will have negotiations with Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the Russian foreign ministry said on Saturday.
"At the invitation of the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thoonglun Sisulit will pay a working visit to Moscow," the ministry said. "The visit’s programme includes talks between the ministers, as well as meetings with the Russian-Lao Friendship Society."
The Russian-Lao relations are based on old traditions of friendship, and on October 7 the countries will celebrate the 55th anniversary of the diplomatic relations.
"Regular and constructive political dialogues at the highest and high levels have gained additional dynamics lately," the Russian ministry said. "An important impetus to improvement of the bilateral partnership came after the meeting of Russia’s President Vladimir Putin with Laos’ President Choummaly Sayasone on September 3 on the sidelines of the events devoted to the 70th anniversary of the victory in World War II.".
