GROZNY, September 30. /TASS/. Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov said on Wednesday he is ready to send to Syria the "world-class specialists" to counter the Islamic State terrorist group.
"If Russia’s Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin issues an order, we are ready already tomorrow to send world-class specialists who have no equal in the West. We have the experience and knowledge," Kadyrov wrote on his page in a social network.
On Wednesday, Russia’s upper house of parliament, the Federation Council, gave President Vladimir Putin approval to use the country’s Air Force in Syria in the fight against the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group.
"I fully back the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin on using Russia’s Air Force for the fight against terrorists in Syria. I’m convinced that the evil should be eliminated in its lair. We cannot wait until they come to our towns and villages," Kadyrov said.
The head of the North Caucasus region expressed confidence that Russia’s actions will secure widespread support in the Muslim world as the IS group is "the most vicious enemy of Islam."
"It is important that Russia acts strictly in compliance with the international law. The Syrian president has asked for help," Kadyrov said. "Syria will need advisors," and the United States, Australia, France and others act like bandits, he said.
Several thousand Chechen servicemen are ready to participate in the fight against the IS terrorists in Syria if there is such a need, Kadyrov told reporters in the capital Grozny.
"Unfortunately, Chechens don't have a possibility to participate in the fight against these shaitans. But if there is a need for infantry forces for the fight against the IS, we will stand first."
The Federation Council unanimously backed the president’s request on Wednesday for using Russia's military force in Syria, Kremlin chief of staff Sergey Ivanov told reporters, saying that 162 votes were in favor of granting permission.
Russia will use only its Air Force in Syria against the Islamic State terrorist group upon the request of Syrian President Bashar Assad, Ivanov said, stressing that no ground troops will be sent. Russia’s participation in the operation against the terrorists comes mainly in an effort to ensure national security and is not about "attaining foreign policy objectives or satisfying some ambitions," he said.
