UNITED NATIONS, September 28. /TASS/. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has not cancelled his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin so far, a spokesman for Iran's mission to the United Nations said on Monday.
"The meeting is still on the Iranian president’s schedule," spokesman Hamid Babaei told TASS. "It is due to take place during the daytime [local time]".
It was earlier reported that following last week's stampede that killed at least 169 Iranian pilgrims during the hajj in Saudi Arabia, Rouhani decided to shorten his visit to New York for the UN General Assembly meetings and return to Tehran on Monday afternoon to attend the funeral of the Iranians killed in the tragedy.
