UNITED NATIONS, September 27. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met in New York on Sunday with Arab League chief Nabil Elaraby to discuss Syrian settlement, the Russian foreign ministry said.
"The sides exchanges views on the situation in a number of Middle East and North Africa countries with a focus on the necessity to build up collective efforts towards political and diplomatic settlement of the crises in the region," the ministry said.
"The sides discussed in particular practical tasks of resuming the Palestinian-Israeli dialogue with a key role of the Middle East Quarter of mediators and of measures to stop the domestic conflict in Syria," the ministry said.
