MOSCOW, September 15. /TASS/. Responsibility for the aggravation of the situation in Syria rests on those who supply weapons to the opponents of President Bashar Assad, Konstantin Kosachev, the chairman of the international committee of Russia’s Federation Council upper parliament house, said in an interview with Vesti FM radio station on Tuesday.
He said terrorists in Syria are not using the weapons Russia supplies to the Assad regime, they are using the weapons the United States and its allies are supplying to Assad’s opponents. "So, responsibility rests on those who supplies weapons to the opposition and these weapons are freely draining to terrorists," he said.
Speaking at the summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Dushanbe on Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that "no one will manage to pass the buck" and shift the responsibility for the deteriorating situation in Syria on Russia, which supported Syria’s legitimate authorities.
