Russian lawmaker: US supports color revolution to win arms markets

NIZHNY TAGIL (Sverdlovsk Region), September 9. /TASS/. The United States supports color revolutions in some countries in order to supply weapons there, Russian Federation Council’s Defense and Security Committee chairman Viktor Ozerov said on Wednesday.

"The United States demonstrates examples of unfair competition in the sphere of selling arms, involving other NATO countries in that," Ozerov told Russian Arms Expo-2015 (RAE-2015). "The United States does not shun supporting opposition forces interested in organizing color revolutions in order to bring them to power and win the arms market in those countries," he added.

Ozerov said that in his opinion, "the situation in Ukraine is just a prerequisite to lower the amount and quality of equipment manufactures in Russia and start supplying American weapons to Ukraine."

The 10th Russian Arms Expo is taking place in Nizhny Tagil on September 9-12. Among participants are 250 companies, representatives of defense ministries of 65 countries and more than 20,000 guests.
