Russia praises China’s achievements under Xi Jinping’s leadership — top diplomat

"These successes make us happy because they are the successes of our friends, although not everyone shares this attitude and tries to contain China's development," Sergey Lavrov noted

BEIJING, April 9. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed Russia's highest assessment of China's achievements.

"We would like to express the highest assessment and admiration for the successes you [China] have achieved over these years and, in particular, over the past decade under your leadership," the minister emphasized.

"These successes make us happy because they are the successes of our friends, although not everyone shares this attitude and tries to contain China's development. The same is done in regard to Russia’s development," Lavrov added.
