MOSCOW, April 8. /TASS/. The world community, international organizations, first of all the IAEA, should deprive Kiev of any opportunity to attack nuclear facilities, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement following the Kiev regime's strikes on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.
"Through its criminal activities Ukraine, supported by the United States and its Western satellites, in fact makes it clear that it has embarked on the path of nuclear terror," the ministry stressed. "The task of the global community, as well as international organizations, primarily the IAEA, is to deprive Kiev of the opportunity to carry out terrorist attacks against nuclear facilities."
"We expect from the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi a public and exhaustively truthful response. Anyone who contributes to masking the role of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his entourage, the Ukrainian army’s command and Ukrainian special services in the attacks on the Russian nuclear facility acts as their accomplices," the Foreign Ministry went on to say.
"The blame for the strikes on the ZNPP, as well as for their possible consequences, also falls squarely on the leadership of those states which supply the Kiev regime with weapons and intelligence, provide it with financial resources, train Ukrainian troops and provide information 'support' for Ukrainian crimes," the Foreign Ministry said.
It also emphasized that Moscow was doing everything necessary to ensure the safety of the ZNPP in accordance with national legislation and international legal obligations.
Ukrainian troops targeted the nuclear power plant with drones three times on April 7. The cargo port area and the canteen located on the premises of the ZNPP were hit. A truck unloading food was damaged. Three people were injured. Also, one of the Ukrainian UAVs hit the dome of the plant’s sixth power unit. On April 8, a kamikaze drone was again shot down over the ZNPP, the wreckage of the drone fell on the dome of Unit 6.
