Russia integral part of Serbia’s future, says Movement of Socialists leader

"Where there is no Russia, there is no justice for Serbia. Serbs, don't you understand this?" Aleksandar Vulin emphasized

BELGRADE, April 8. /TASS/. The former head of Serbia's Security and Information Agency, Aleksandar Vulin, believes that not coordinating with Russia on its foreign policy would be a mistake.

"The attitude towards the membership of the so-called Kosovo in the Council of Europe is the attitude towards Serbia. That is why most EU members and all officials of the Brussels administration vote in favor of the so-called Kosovo, knowing that they are voting against Serbia," Vulin was quoted as saying in a statement by the Movement of Socialists that he leads. "Despite its problems, Russia has once again supported us. If Russia were still a member of the Council of Europe, the so-called Kosovo would not have been mentioned," he added.

"Where there is no Russia, there is no justice for Serbia. Serbs, don't you understand this?" Vulin emphasized.

The political committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) met in Paris on March 27 to consider Pristina's application for membership in the organization. Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said that the decision of the PACE’s Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy to recommend that unrecognized Kosovo be invited to become a member of the Council of Europe was "shameful, scandalous and violated all the principles that the Council of Europe is based on".

The Serbian government officially announced that on the initiative of President Aleksandar Vucic a working group has been established in the country, which "will coordinate the functioning of all state agencies of the Republic of Serbia on all activities related to preventing the admission of the so-called Republic of Kosovo to the Council of Europe."

In an address to the nation in late March, the Serbian leader said he would consider attending the BRICS summit in Kazan in October.
