MOSCOW, March 29. /TASS/. Issues of bilateral relations and prospects for the normalization between Baku and Yerevan were the focus of a meeting between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin and his visiting Azerbaijani counterpart, Elnur Mamedov, the Russian foreign ministry said.
"The sides discussed in detail the current state of and prospects for further development of Russian-Azerbaijani relations," it said. "The senior diplomats discussed further joint steps toward the implementation of the declaration on allied relations between Russia and Azerbaijan of February 22, 2022."
Galuzin and Mamedov also discussed "a number of regional and international topics, including the current situation in the South Caucasus and prospects for the normalization between Armenia and Azerbaijan on the basis of the package of trilateral agreements between the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia," the ministry said, adding that the meeting was held "in a traditionally friendly atmosphere, which fits the spirit of Russian-Azerbaijani allied relations of strategic partnership.".
