MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. Russia, through the mediation of Qatar, handed over six children to the Ukrainian side. The reunion with the families took place at the Qatari Embassy in Moscow with the participation of the country's Ambassador Ahmed bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani and the Russian Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova, a TASS correspondent reported from the scene.

The work is being carried out on behalf of the Russian President, Lvova-Belova noted. According to her, one of the children is returning to relatives in Russia. "In total, 64 children have already returned to Ukraine, 6 have reunited with relatives in Russia," she said.

"We thank you for this work. This is a very important process of family reunification. We thank Russian President Vladimir Putin for facilitating this operation. All this is also happening under the leadership and within the framework of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. We are trying our best to help in these matters," the Qatari Ambassador said

According to him, Vladimir Putin's victory in the presidential elections is an important step for further bilateral cooperation. "We would like to thank the Russian government, the Russian people for the fact that Vladimir Putin was once again elected president. This is a very important step towards our future cooperation," the diplomat said.
