US engages in hypocrisy when offering security dialogue on its own terms — MFA

The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that Moscow is ready "to discuss issues of security and stability only in a single complex and with an emphasis on the aspects that directly involve" Russia’s security interests

MOSCOW, March 18. /TASS/. The US engages in hypocrisy and demagogy when it proposes an arms control dialogue on its own terms, the Russian Foreign Ministry said, adding that Moscow is ready to discuss this issue as a part of a single complex.

"The US functionaries, who state their alleged will to engage in arms control discussions with Russia without preconditions, obviously did not bother to examine Russian President Vladimir Putin’s February 29, 2024 address to the Federal Assembly, which exhaustively describes our principal assessments of this kind of exercises in hypocrisy and demagogy amid Washington’s course on infliction of a ‘strategic defeat’ to Russia," the ministry said.

"Our positions remains unchanged: we are ready to discuss issues of security and stability only in a single complex and with an emphasis on the aspects that directly involve our country’s security interests. So far, we’ve only been offered dialogue exclusively on the US’ conditions and only on issues that concern Washington," the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
