LDPR leader Slutsky submits documents to run in Russia’s 2024 presidential election

The upper house of the Russian Parliament, the Federation Council, formally designated March 17, 2024 as the date of the presidential election

MOSCOW, December 25. /TASS/. Leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) Leonid Slutsky has submitted documents with the Central Election Commission to run in the country’s 2024 presidential election.

On December 19, the 35th LDPR Congress nominated Slutsky as the party’s candidate for the upcoming election.

The upper house of the Russian Parliament, the Federation Council, formally designated March 17, 2024 as the date of the presidential election. In turn, the Russian Central Election Commission decided that citizens would be able to cast their ballots during a three-day voting period on March 15-17, making this Russia’s first three-day presidential election.
