MADRID, December 16. /TASS/. The relationship between Russia and Spain is currently seeing a major crisis, with bilateral cooperation derailed almost entirely, Russian Ambassador to Madrid Yury Klimenko told TASS.

"Unfortunately, the relations between Russia and Spain are currently seeing a deep crisis," the diplomat lamented. "And though cooperation between our countries has been almost completely derailed, it happened not at Russia’s initiative," he emphasized.

According to Klimenko, Russia has always expressed willingness to maintain a constructive and open dialogue on the entire range of bilateral relations. "We sincerely believe that the crisis will be overcome and that we will revive effective cooperation on an equal and mutually advantageous basis," he maintained.
