Ukrainian, Middle East conflicts stem from US’ policy — Russian lawmaker

Leonid Slutsky noted that European politicians are unlikely to be bold enough to recognize the real causes of the destabilization and not only in this region

MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/. The Palestinian-Israeli and Ukrainian conflicts have common roots as they stem from the policy of the United States and its allies to impose their interests on other countries, a senior Russian lawmaker said on Monday.

Commenting on EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell’s remarks that the conflict in the Middle East is the West’s political failure, Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the international committee of the Russian State Duma (lower house of parliament), noted that European politicians are unlikely to be bold enough to recognize the real causes of the destabilization and not only in this region.

"The Palestinian-Israeli and Ukrainian conflicts have common roots. They are linked with the year-long policy of the United states and its satellites aimed at imposing their interests and ignoring the interests of other countries, first of all in the sphere of global security. And all sorts of Borrells, Blinkens and the like should finally recognize this," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

The West "is on the brink of moral bankruptcy," he noted. "Lies, cynicism, neocolonialism, and notorious double standards will ultimately ruin the Old World’s establishment.".
