Africa remembers USSR’s help in its liberation – Putin

The head of state commented on the words that the USSR was the leading voice of liberation for the whole world, including for the African continent

ST. PETERSBURG, July 30. /TASS/. Africa remembers the concrete help of the Soviet Union in its liberation, Russian President Vladimir Putin told reporters.

"Everybody remembers our concrete help to African countries in the fight for their liberation," the Russian head of state said.

The second Russia-Africa Summit and Economic and Humanitarian Forum was held on July 27-28 at the Expoforum venue in St. Petersburg under its traditional rubric: “For peace, security and development.” The event was organized by the Roscongress Foundation. TASS was the official photo-hosting agency and information partner for the summit and forum, as well as the host of the Second Russia-Africa Media Forum.
