MOSCOW, March 16. /TASS/. Kiev’s strike against Donetsk with a Tochka-U missile on March 14 was a bloody act of terrorism, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said.
"On March 14, the center of Donetsk was attacked with a missile. This bloody act of terrorism claimed at least 20 lives," Putin said on Wednesday while opening a conference on measures for socio-economic support for Russia’s regions. He stressed that "such bombardments have continued for several days."
Putin said that Ukrainian forces were barraging vast areas fanatically and frenziedly the way only those doomed are capable of.
"They are like the Nazis who in the last days of the Third Reich tried to put to death as many innocent people as possible," Putin said.
On Monday, the authorities of the Donetsk People’s Republic said fragments of the Ukrainian army’s missile Tochka-U crashed upon the center of Donetsk. According to the Donetsk Republic’s leader, Denis Pushilin, the missile carried a cluster munition. Eighteen people were killed on site and three others died in hospital a short while later. A total of 35 victims were taken to local hospitals.
