Russia regrets that OSCE chairperson did not meet with Donbass representatives - diplomat

On January 19-20 Ann Linde visited Kiev as well as a territory near the line of engagement in Donbass controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, having arrived there on a Ukrainian military helicopter

VIENNA, January 21. /TASS/. Russia regrets that OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Sweden’s Foreign Minister Ann Linde did not meet with representatives of Donetsk and Lugansk during her visit to Ukraine, Russia’s Permanent Envoy to the OSCE Alexander Lukashevich said at an online meeting of the permanent council of this international organization on Thursday.

He noted that on January 19 - 20 the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office visited Kiev as well as a territory near the line of engagement in Donbass controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, having arrived there on a Ukrainian military helicopter.

"We regret that she didn’t find it possible, despite the invitation sent to her, to conduct meetings on the other side - with the representatives of Donetsk and Lugansk, as well as see for herself the consequences of a seven-year Kiev’s military operation against the population of Donbass and the socio-economic blockade of the region," the diplomat noted.
