MOSCOW, April 24. /TASS/. Western countries are provoking intra-state instability as they are advancing democracy through the so-called humanitarian interference, Chief of Russia’s General Staff Valery Gerasimov said at the 8th Moscow International Security Conference on Wednesday.
"Frequently, the so-called humanitarian interference is done under the pretext of promoting democracy, thus provoking intra-state instability," he said.
For Western countries, "unilateral actions towards other states carried out with disregard for the opinion of their legitimate governments and not authorized by the UN" have already become a norm, he stressed.
