MOSCOW, April 19. /TASS/. Moscow presented a number of cooperation initiatives to Washington, particularly concerning the security sector, but received no response, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"Russia presented a number of initiatives to Washington, particularly concerning strategic security and stability, as well as cooperation in the fight against cyber crime," he said. "There was no response to any of those initiatives and ideas. The Americans are reluctant to cooperate, which causes us concern because it runs counter to the two countries’ interests, as well as to the interests of the world," the Kremlin spokesman emphasized.

On Friday, Russia’s Kommersant daily wrote that in October 2018, Moscow had sent a draft joint statement on the prevention of nuclear war to Washington but the United States had provided no response.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on February 22 that Washington had failed to respond to Russia’s suggestion to once again reaffirm the two countries’ commitment to efforts aimed at preventing nuclear war.
