Russian parliament confirms MPs’ mid-April visit to North Korea

The official invitation was sent by Pyongyang to mark 70th anniversary of economic and cultural cooperation agreement of the Soviet Union and North Korea

MOSCOW, April 8. /TASS/. A delegation of Russian lawmakers will pay an official visit to North Korea April 11-16, headed by United Russia party faction leader Sergey Neverov, head of the committee on Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Leonid Kalashnikov said following a Duma Council meeting.

"From [April] 11 to 16, Neverov will head (the delegation)," he told reporters on Monday.

Kalashnikov added that the delegation will also include head of State Duma Friendship Group with the Supreme People’s Assembly of North Korea Kazbek Taisaev (Communist Party).

As first Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Ivan Melnikov reported earlier, the official invitation was sent by Pyongyang to mark 70th anniversary of economic and cultural cooperation agreement signed by the Soviet Union and North Korea.
