Russia to evaluate Ukrainian presidential election based on results, Lavrov says

The Ukrainian presidential election is scheduled for March 31

SAN MARINO, March 21. /TASS/. Russia will study the results of the Ukrainian presidential election and assess it at its true worth, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told TASS at a joint news conference with San Marino’s Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Nicola Renzi.

"As for our evaluation of the results of this election process, we will study the results and assess them at their true worth," he said.

The Ukrainian presidential election is scheduled for March 31. A number of politicians and Ukrainian experts already called the current election campaign the dirtiest in the whole history of the country’s independence.

On Wednesday, the Ukrainian Central Election Committee denied the OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) the registration of 24 Russian citizens as observers for the Ukrainian presidential election. The Ukrainian Central Election Committee also refused to register two long-term observers from Russia.
