Kremlin spokesman doesn’t rule out Putin’s meeting with French politician visiting Crimea

Earlier Mariani said at Sevastopol’s parliament he was hoping to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin but the meeting should be approved

MOSCOW, March 16. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin might meet with President of the French-Russian Dialogue Association Thierry Mariani, head of a delegation of French politicians visiting Russia for festivities marking the fifth anniversary of Crimea’s reunification with Russia, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told TASS on Saturday.

"I does not rule that out," he said asked whether it was possible.

Earlier in the day, Mariani said at Sevastopol’s parliament he was hoping to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin but the meeting should be approved.

Mariani is leading a delegation of French politicians, which have arrived in Crimea for the festivities marking the fifth anniversary of Crimea’s reunification with Russia. They were the first foreign politicians to visit the Black Sea peninsula back in 2015 and 2016. The French delegates are accompanied by Chairman of the Russian State Duma (lower house of parliament) International Affairs Committee Leonid Slutsky.
