Russia's UN ambassador urges OSCE to identify party escalating Donbass conflict

UNITED NATIONS, March 7./TASS/. Russia urges the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) in Ukraine to clearly identify the party that is triggering an escalation of the conflict in Donbass and to come up with a respective report, UN Ambassador Vasily Nebenzya said on Thursday.

"We urge the OSCE SMM to step up the monitoring activity in Donbass," the ambassador told a session of the UN Security Council. Nebenzya said it is necessary "to clearly determine the party that is instigating the worsening of the situation as well as shelling". "We will be insisting that the SMM prepare a detailed report on this issue," the diplomat stressed.

"It is not fragmentary data that is expected from the report, but a comprehensive view of military preparations of the Ukrainian armed forces," Nebenzya emphasized.
