Putin to hold regular meetings with the public ahead of State Council Presidium - official

Representatives of all departments and all regions will take part in the work of the working group, the first Deputy head of the presidential administration also noted

YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, February 17. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s meetings with the public will take place prior to any session of the State Council Presidium, Sergei Kiriyenko, first deputy chief of the presidential staff, said in the Moscow. Kremlin. Putin television program on Sunday.

"What is important is that [the president] said that a separate meeting with the public will be held before each [session] of the State Council Presidium," Kiriyenko said.

On February 1, 2019, the State Council’s 16 working groups embarked on a social and economic growth push, including the implementation of national projects. Regional governors have been assigned to head them, Kiriyenko recalled. As part of their functions at the working groups, the governors will be able "to talk as equals with ministers and deputy prime ministers" to work out a collective solution, he added.

"The working group begins interacting with representatives from all agencies, with representatives from all regions a month or two months prior to the State Council Presidiums. The task is not only to announce ready decisions or to talk. The task is to find solutions where they are not on the surface, what is more, to find solutions that will be doable in any region," he summed up.

On February 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he would begin a series of meetings with the public to discuss the implementation of national projects. Putin announced these plans at the first meeting held in Kazan before a session of the State Council Presidium devoted to the Housing and Urban Environment national project.
