Lavrov discusses cooperation, Kosovo crisis with Serbian president in Munich

The ministry said that Lavrov and Vucic shared views on pressing bilateral and international issues

MOSCOW, February 16. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on the sidelines of the 55th Munich Security Conference on Saturday, focusing on bilateral cooperation and the Kosovo crisis, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Lavrov and Vucic "shared views on pressing bilateral and international issues," the ministry said. They "underlined a mutual aspiration to deepen strategic partnership and to implement the agreements approved during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s official visit to Belgrade on January 17, 2019."

The Russian top diplomat and the Serbian president highlighted the similarity of their positions on resolution of the Kosovo crisis, underscoring a significant role of the United Nations Security Council in that process.

"[They] pointed out that Pristina should cancel its provocative decisions to impose 100-percent duties on Serbian and Bosnian goods and to set up - contrary to Resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council - the so-called ‘armed forces’," the Russian foreign ministry said.
