Diplomat states Russia's readiness to join mediatory efforts in Venezuela

MOSCOW, January 31. /TASS/.Russia is ready to join mediation efforts to search for a solution to the crisis in Venezuela, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a news briefing on Thursday.

"The situation in Venezuela remains extremely strained. Protest demonstrations are continuing. Ways out of the current situation are seen through a wide intra-Venezuelan dialogue," she said.

"We are prepared to join the mediatory and consultative mechanism acceptable for the Venezuelan parties. We welcome Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s readiness to accept such international efforts."
