Putin says he expects constructive teamwork with Armenia’s prime minister

MOSCOW, January 14./TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a telegram of congratulations toya Nikol Pashinyan appointed as Armenian Prime Minister on Monday, the Kremlin press service reported.

"Putin noted, in particular, that relations between Russia and Armenia are based on good traditions of friendship and mutual respect, and the countries have accumulated substantial experience of productive cooperation on different trajectories," the Kremlin said.

"I expect that our dialogue and constructive teamwork will help to further strengthen Russian-Armenian allied cooperation as well as to advance integration processes in the Eurasian space," the Russian president said. "This undoubtedly meets the interests of our fraternal peoples," the Russian leader stressed.

Early parliamentary elections were held in Armenia on December 9. Pashinyan’s bloc, My Step, won a convincing victory with 70.43% of votes.
