Militants continue to violate ceasefire in Syria - Russian reconciliation center

Apart from that, work is continued to amnesty people dodging military service

MOSCOW, January 13. /TASS/. A settlement in Syria’s Latakia governorate and Aleppo’s research center came under shelling by militants acting in the Idlib de-escalation zone, chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria Sergei Solomatin said on Sunday.

"Illegal armed groups operating in the Idlib de-escalation zone continue to violate the ceasefire. Thus, during the day, militants from illegal armed groups shelled the settlement of Safsafa in the Latakia governorate and the area around Aleppo’s research center," he said.

He also said that as of January 12 as many as 216, 203 people returned to their homes in Syria.

Apart from that, work is continued to amnesty people dodging military service. Thus, by now, a total of 25,749 have been amnestied, he added.

Russian reconciliation center

The Russian reconciliation center continues to fulfill assigned tasks after the completion of the military campaign in Syria. The center’s officers regularly travel around the country's liberated areas to assess the humanitarian situation. The main efforts of the Russian military are now focused on assistance to the refugees returning to their homes.
