MOSCOW, December 11. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin is certain that calls for unauthorized protests are fraught with events similar to those underway in Paris.

While speaking at a meeting of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights about the case of human rights activist Lev Ponomaryov, currently in custody, Putin said that the court’s decision was based on calls for unauthorized demonstrations.

"We do not want to see here any events like those in Paris, where cobblestones are thrown and everything around is set on fire and the country then plunges into the state of emergency," Putin said.
