Russian, Kazakh presidents discuss cooperation within EAEU, CIS

MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev have discussed cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Kremlin press service said in a statement, following a telephone conversation between the two leaders.

"In the run-up to a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, scheduled to take place in St. Petersburg on December 6, 2018, and an informal summit of the CIS leaders, the parties discussed some issues concerning cooperation within multilateral integration institutions," the statement reads.

The Kazakh presidential press service, in turn, said that the two heads of state had considered the schedule of their future meetings and "exchanged views on cooperation matters, as well as on regional and global issues.".
