Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron will meet on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Argentina

MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron will discuss the situation in Ukraine and in the Middle East, as well as the US’ exit from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF Treaty) on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Argentina, Kremlin Aide Yuri Ushakov informed.

"We assume that during the discussion of the international agenda, above all, they will discuss the Ukrainian crisis and Syrian regulation, as well as the situation in Libya. [The leaders] also plan to discuss the issue of coordinating activities on maintaining the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program, as well as [the issue of] European security, including in the contest of Washington’s exit from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty," he said.

Speaking of another bilateral meeting between Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Ushakov informed that the Russian and German leaders will discuss the situation in Syria and Ukraine as well.

"During the meeting in Argentina, current issues of the global and regional agenda will be discussed, including prospects of peaceful regulation in Syria and international cooperation aimed at the political and diplomatic solution of the Ukrainian domestic conflict," the Kremlin representative informed.

According to Ushakov, during a meeting between Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, the leaders "plan to discuss directions of further development of Russian-Chinese comprehensive, equal and trust-based partnership and strategic cooperation, as well as to exchange opinions on key global and regional issues." Positions of Moscow and Beijing are similar on many issues, Ushakov stressed.
