No need for direct talks between Putin, Poroshenko following sea skirmish, says Kremlin

MOSCOW, November 27. /TASS/. The Kerch Strait situation does not require direct talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Pyotr Poroshenko as Russian border guards have already "appeased" border violators, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"In fact, there is no more need to calm the situation," he said in response to a question. "It happened the day before yesterday, when our border guards appeased the violators of the Russian state border," Peskov said, commenting on US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo’s suggestion that the two leaders should hold direct talks to resolve the issue.
