WASHINGTON, November 18. /TASS/. The Russian Embassy in the US extends condolences to residents of California regarding the tragic consequences of wildfires raging across the US state, the embassy stated on Twitter.

"We extend our most sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the people of #California regarding the huge amount of damage and dozens of human casualties caused by destructive forest fires," the Russian diplomatic mission wrote.

According to recent data, Northern California’s Camp Fire covers the area over 598 thousand square kilometers, with only 50% of the fire contained. It is already considered the deadliest wildfire in California’s history. The fire destroyed 12 thousand buildings, including over 9.8 thousand residential houses.

Several counties in California have declared a state of emergency. US President Donald Trump ordered to allocate federal funds for combating the wildfire.
