The top diplomat says the Russian Foreign Ministry will continue to protect the interests and rights of Russian reporters working abroad

MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. The Russian Foreign Ministry will continue to protect the interests and rights of Russian reporters working abroad, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated in his address to Russian journalists, published on the ministry’s website on Wednesday and timed to the 100th anniversary of the Russian Union of Journalists.

The minister noted that Moscow commends the union’s efforts on expanding international cooperation. "In this current difficult situation in the world, the activity aimed at promoting high professional standards and values of honest journalism in the global information space is worthy of respect," Lavrov noted. "Of course, we will continue to pay close attention to protecting the interests of Russian representatives of the media working abroad."

He also confirmed the Russian Foreign Ministry’s commitment to cooperate with the Russian Union of Journalists in this area in order to "support trust and mutual understanding between nations.".
