MOSCOW, November 3. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel will discuss implementation of joint projects at their meeting on Saturday in Moscow.

The sides will focus on relevant issues in Russian-Cuban trade-economic, investment, scientific-technical and cultural-humanitarian cooperation, the press service of the Russian cabinet of ministers said earlier adding that Medvedev and Diaz-Canel will also discuss progress in implementing joint projects in energy, industy, transport and other spheres.

Diaz-Canel started his official visit to Russia on November 1 on the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. On November 2, the Cuban president held talks with Putin. Diaz-Canel also met with Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko and State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin. The Cuban president will also meet with Patriach Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.

At talks with Volodin, Diaz-Canel confirmed Havana's unchanged policy toward Moscow. The sides discussed US sanctions imposed on Russia and Cuba, and noted the unacceptability of using such measures as a political instrument against other countries.

At her meeting with the Cuban president, Matviyenko noted the privileged character and gradual development of bilateral relations. Talking about economic cooperation between Russia and Cuba, she called for making joint efforts to implement bilateral investment projects as soon as possible.
