PM vows Russia's response to Kiev’s sanctions will not affect majority of Ukrainians

The sanctions are imposed on persons who harm Russia's interests, the prime minister explained

KALININGRAD, October 23. /TASS/. Russia's countermeasures to Ukraine’s sanctions will not affect the majority of Ukrainians, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev told reporters.

"The sanctions are imposed on persons who harm the interests of the Russian Federation. Neither the decree [Putin’s decree imposing special economic measures in response to the anti-Russian sanctions of Ukraine - TASS] nor the government’s decree will apply to Ukrainians in general, it is absolutely unacceptable," Medvedev said.

"On the contrary, we are overcome with most friendly feelings towards the Ukrainian people. But some of their citizens harm Russia’s interests, taking actions aimed at causing damage to our country. Our resolutions [by the Russian government] will apply to these particular people," Medvedev said.
