Moscow expects US to galvanize work with Kiev after meeting between Russian, US officials

Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and United States National Security Advisor John Bolton held a meeting on August 23

GENEVA, August 23. /TASS/. Russia expects from the US more focused work with Ukraine to implement the Minsk agreements to settle the situation in Donbass after the meeting between Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and United States National Security Advisor John Bolton. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, who took part in the negotiations in Geneva, told TASS about it on Thursday.

"We are expecting it," he said in response to a question. "The arguments presented to Mr Bolton, which also include the history of the issue and the origin of the current situation, carry a serious political signal: the expectations for the US to conduct more focused active work, so that Kiev did implement the Minsk package."

After the negotiations with Patrushev Bolton is expected to go to Kiev to take part in the celebration of Ukraine’s Independence Day and meet with its authorities.
