Russian, Lebanese officials discuss return of Syrian refugees

The sides also exchanged views on the development of the situation in and around Lebanon

MOSCOW, August 14. /TASS/. Issues of the return of Syrian refugees were in focus of a meeting between Russian president’s epical envoy for the Middle East and African countries and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and visiting leader of the Lebanese Democratic Party and acting Minister for the Displaced Talal Arslan, the Russian foreign ministry said on Tuesday.

"The sides discussed issues of the Syrian crisis settlement, including return of Syrian refugees from Lebanon," the ministry said.

The sides also exchanged views on the development of the situation in and around Lebanon. "The Russian side reiterated its position in support of independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon and its interest in further development of Russia’s traditionally friendly relations with the multi-religious Lebanese people," the ministry said.
