Israel, Russia agree to ensure observance of ceasefire line on Golan Heights

STAVROPOL, August 6. /TASS/. Israel and Russia have reached agreement on ensuring observance of the ceasefire line that separates the Syrian and Israeli forces on the Golan Heights, the Israeli Ambassador in Moscow, Gary Koren told reporters on Monday.

"We coordinated the arrangement under which Russia pledged to make sure, as it were, that the Syrian Army will not cross the ceasefire line established under the 1974 agreement," Koren said.

"It looks like everything is functioning for the time being," he said. "I hope it’ll be so in the future, too."

Koren said along with it his country insisted on a full pullout of Iranian armed units from Syria.

"The situation will be ideal for us when the last Iranian soldier leaves the Syrian territory," he said.
